Rubber Band Car Race

Last week the youth group created rubber band cars and had a tournament racing them.

Some things to keep in mind:

How are we similar to the rubber band cars?
How are we different?
What energizes us in our lives?
Do we run into obstacles and go off course?
Can you think of any obstacles in your life that have knocked you off the right path?
If so, how do we get back on track?
What role does God and the Church play in helping us avoid obstacles and healing us when we don’t?

We held our first Ultimate Sword Fighting Championship tonight, and although we had really great contenders, John Mullins came out on top and was crowned the first USFC champion! Here are some photos of the tournament.

Springfield Cardinals Game!

This is a little ways away, but we just wanted to let you guys know that the youth group is teaming up with the IC youth group to go to a Springfield Cardinals game on Wednesday July 21st. Since we are joining our groups, we will have enough people to reserve the “dugout deck” box seats. It has couches and recliners in it, and it is right behind home plate! Tickets are $15 and that includes a free hat. We will have more details later. Save the date!

Six members of the Holy Trinity youth group joined around 350 other Catholic youth from our diocese in West Plains last weekend for the annual Springfield/Cape Girardeau Diocese Youth Conference. It was a weekend full of entertaining and motivating speakers, prayer, dancing, and camaraderie amongst Catholic teens in the diocese.

Hey Holy Trinity Youth Group! This is the new HT youth group blog. http://htyouth.wordpress.com/ This is going to be used for updates on dates and announcements and such. It will also be used to float around ideas of what kind of activities we might do in the future, as well as a place for us to post pictures and videos of youth group stuff. I wanted to make this for those teens who don’t use facebook, but it will be linked up with facebook so posts on here will show up on the youth group facebook page. Sound confusing? Maybe so, but don’t worry. It is sort of a trial thing. We shall see how it plays out. Thanks! – John & Cait.
